Robert Lewandowski has confirmed he will leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season when his contract expires, declaring his "mission is complete" after helping restore the club to its former glory.

The 37-year-old Poland striker joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022 and has been nothing short of sensational, netting 119 goals in 191 appearances. His trophy haul includes three La Liga titles—including this season's triumph—and the 2025 Copa del Rey, marking a remarkable resurgence for the Catalan giants.

"After four years full of challenges and hard work, it's time to move on," Lewandowski wrote on Instagram. "I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. Four seasons, three championships."

Injuries have limited the veteran forward this campaign, starting just 15 league games. But when it mattered most, he delivered—scoring in the crucial 2-1 win over Osasuna earlier this month that set the stage for Barcelona's title success. He also made a late cameo in last weekend's Clásico victory against Real Madrid that officially sealed the championship.

"Barca is back where it belongs," Lewandowski added. "I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on earth."

His final home appearance will be at Spotify Camp Nou against Real Betis on Sunday, with Barcelona wrapping up their season the following Saturday at Valencia. Coach Hansi Flick, who previously worked with Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, confirmed the striker will start against Betis.

"He spoke with the team, said goodbye, and told them it was a great time for him here in Barcelona," Flick said. "I've worked with Robert for years, and together we won nine trophies—every title I've won was with him. For me, it's a privilege. He's a professional who gave his best every single day. He's a perfect role model for young players—a fantastic human and a world-class player."

Speculation about his next move has already begun. Last December, Chicago Fire confirmed they held talks with Lewandowski about a potential move to Major League Soccer, though nothing has been finalized yet.

Barcelona paid tribute to the legendary striker in an official statement: "Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every fight, and every magical moment wearing these colors."
