Former Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland revealed what went wrong with Philadelphia’s offense this past season on an episode of New Heights with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce.

The Eagles ranked at the bottom of most offensive categories, which led to the team firing offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after the season and hiring new OC Sean Mannion.

ESPN reported Stoutland was unhappy that Patullo and coach Nick Sirianni made changes in the run game without his consultation. He ultimately decided to leave the Eagles in February after 13 seasons. He can say whatever he wants now.

“I think anytime things don’t go well, and I don’t want to sound like I’m on an interview, but it’s the truth — it’s execution, it’s calling the right plays at the right time, and not running bad plays into bad defenses. I mean, it ain’t that hard — that’s pretty much it,” Stoutland told the Kelce brothers.

The “running bad plays into bad defense” comment is taking aim at Patullo, who really struggled in his first season as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator. The Dolphins hired Patullo this offseason as their next pass-game coordinator. Patullo could thrive better in a situation where he doesn’t have to call plays. He wasn’t ready for Philadelphia’s OC job.
