Leeds United are set to sit down with Ethan Ampadu's representatives for another round of contract talks before the end of this week, according to The Athletic. With Premier League safety now secured, manager Daniel Farke is gearing up for a busy summer at Elland Road—and tying down his captain is at the top of the to-do list.

The 25-year-old Welsh international has been a linchpin in Leeds' survival campaign, logging more Premier League minutes than any other player in the squad this season. His 33 league appearances and five FA Cup outings underline just how vital he's been in the heart of midfield and defense. It's no surprise the club wants to reward him with a fresh, improved deal.

Ampadu's current contract runs until the end of next season, but Leeds hold an option to extend it by another year through June 2028. Talks have already been underway between the club and the player's camp, and the expectation is that negotiations will accelerate in the coming days. For a player who has proven he can hold his own in the English top flight, this feels like a no-brainer for the Whites.

Of course, when Leeds were fighting relegation, rival clubs were likely keeping a close watch on Ampadu's situation. But with safety now in the bag, the Yorkshire side are in a stronger position to keep their skipper on board and build around him for next season. Expect more movement on this front before the week is out.
