Leeds United are setting their sights on Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor as the summer transfer window approaches, with the 25-year-old increasingly expected to seek a move away from the Stadium of Light. Once a key figure in Sunderland's promotion push, Isidor has seen his playing time plummet after Brian Brobbey took over as the primary striker, leaving him without a Premier League start since early December and with just one goal in his last 24 appearances.
Speaking on Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Pete O'Rourke revealed that several clubs could make a move for the Frenchman—provided Sunderland don't demand an unrealistic fee. Leeds are actively looking to strengthen their attack this summer, and while Isidor is on their radar, he's not at the top of their wish list.
Sunderland reportedly held out for around £25 million in January, a price that scared off potential suitors, but that figure may drop in the coming months. In 30 Premier League games this season, Isidor has five goals, a 40% shot accuracy, and averages 5.08 touches in the opposition box per 90 minutes—stats that highlight his potential as a dynamic forward, even if his recent form has dipped.
"He's under contract until 2028, and as long as Sunderland don't ask for silly money, I think there'll be a number of clubs who would be interested in Isidor," O'Rourke said. "Leeds obviously will be looking to add to their attacking options in the summer as well, but yeah, I'm sure Isidor is on the list but not necessarily high up on it."
For Sunderland, selling Isidor would be a calculated risk. His pace and willingness to shoot early offer manager Régis Le Bris a unique weapon off the bench—a specific trait that's hard to replace on a budget. However, with a dribble success rate of just 27.3% and a 29% aerial duel win rate, there are clear areas for improvement. As the summer window heats up, all eyes will be on whether Leeds make a formal approach or if Isidor finds a new home elsewhere.
