Chelsea's nightmare season hit a new low on Saturday as they suffered a sixth straight Premier League defeat for the first time in over 30 years. The 3-1 home loss to a second-string Nottingham Forest side—who are surging toward safety under manager Vitor Pereira—marked the first time since November 1993 that the Blues have lost six league matches in a row.

Already enduring their worst run since 1912, Chelsea at least avoided the ignominy of going six games without scoring for the first time in club history. That small consolation came courtesy of Joao Pedro's stunning stoppage-time bicycle kick, which also ended a nine-and-a-half-hour goal drought for the team.

The match started disastrously for the hosts, with Taiwo Awoniyi scoring inside the first two minutes. Igor Jesus doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Malo Gusto's careless shirt-pull on Awoniyi, and Awoniyi added a third in the 52nd minute, slotting home after Morgan Gibbs-White's low cross.

Pedro thought he had pulled one back earlier, only for VAR to rule him offside by the narrowest of margins. Cole Palmer also had a first-half penalty saved by Forest keeper Matz Sels after a foul on Jesse Derry, who was stretchered off to hospital following a nasty collision.

The managerless Blues—now under interim boss Calum McFarlane after Liam Rosenior's sacking—haven't won in the league since January. Until Pedro's late heroics, this was on course to be their fourth 3-0 defeat in five games.
