Potsdam scored single runs in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings battling back from a 5-2 deficit against OFA and then erupted for six runs in the seventh inning to grab a 10-5 NAC Central baseball win.

The Sandstoners, who played five games in South Carolina during Spring Break, climbed to 2-0 in division play behind righthander Nic Roda who blanked the Blue Devils in the fourth, fifth and six innings before reaching his pitch allotment with one out in the seventh.

After turning a strong game at shortstop, Sam Martin closed out the game with the last two outs.

Issac Atkinson crushed a massive homerun over the leftfield bench and singled and Logan Grant stroked two singles and a double to lead the Sandstoners. William Fryer singled twice and Roda, Damian Gorski and Wyatt Dinan all singled.

Maddux Brenno, who pitched a gritty first six innings for OFA, doubled and singled for the Blue Devils. Blake Ashley doubled and Lucca LaBella, Kellen Sutton and Evan Nelson all singled.

In other Central action, Massena swept a doubleheader from Gouverneur 11-1, 13-4 and Malone downed Canton 10-1.

Malone 10 - Canton 1: Sophomore southpaw Hunter Shantie pitched six smooth innings and Liam McGwin closed out a two-hitter in the seventh inning for the Huskies. Shantie also doubled and scored three runs in the win where Ryan Payne, Merrick Meacham and Porter Hanna all singled.

Zadok Roiger and Parker Ames singled for Canton and Gavin Schryver scored the Bears’ lone run.

Massena 19 - Malone 3: Seven unanswered goals in the second, powered the Raiders who received six goals from Joe Lynn Jabout, two goals and four assists from Sophia Currier, two goals and one assist from Kiera Frost.

Livie Parsons scored two goals with one assist for Malone.
