The Baltimore Ravens have officially taken flight into a new era. On Thursday night, the franchise unveiled its "Next Flight" uniform collection for the 2026 NFL season, marking the most significant redesign since the iconic purple bird head logo was introduced back in 1999.

Before a crowd of over 6,000 season-ticket holders, the new look was revealed. But the first reactions came from the locker room, where the team's stars got an exclusive preview. In a video released by the Ravens, the genuine excitement from players like Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry was palpable.

"These are nice, very nice," said Derrick Henry, the powerhouse running back. "This matte helmet is fire. Very tough." He praised the subtle yet effective evolution, noting, "Not too much like a drastic change, but it’s like very subtle, but you didn’t need much change."

Quarterback Lamar Jackson echoed the enthusiasm, already envisioning game day. "They all look good. Dang! We need to be suited up right now," Jackson shared, highlighting the standout feature. "That matte black different."

The redesign's centerpiece is the new "Darkness Helmet," a sleek matte black shell adorned with talon stripes and a fierce front-facing logo featuring sharp red eyes. The "Purple Rising" helmet also received an update, now proudly displaying the team's primary logo.

The jersey updates follow a cohesive theme. Numbers are now outlined in a deep midnight purple, a shade that also accents sleeve patches, collars, and pant details. Notably, the collar features a pattern of spread wings—a nod to the franchise's roots—while classic gold trim has been swapped out. The white road jerseys now boldly spell "Baltimore" across the chest.

In a league where uniform changes can sometimes feel like mere marketing, Baltimore's "Next Flight" collection stands out. It’s a confident stride forward that honors the team's storied identity while equipping its players with a modern, intimidating look fit for the future of the game.
