The Los Angeles Lakers would strike gold in a recent blockbuster trade proposal.

The Los Angeles Lakers may be gearing up for a seismic roster shakeup that would send shockwaves through the NBA. According to a bold trade proposal making the rounds, the purple and gold are predicted to part ways with second-year wing Dalton Knecht in pursuit of a $175 million two-time MVP—none other than Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Knecht, the former No. 17 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, has struggled to find his footing in Los Angeles. After two underwhelming seasons, the sharpshooting rookie-turned-benchwarmer has spent much of his time glued to the sideline. With the Lakers clearly shifting their long-term vision, it seems the 23-year-old's days in Hollywood could be numbered.

ClutchPoints' Jedd Pagaduan recently floated a blockbuster trade scenario that would send Knecht packing alongside Jarred Vanderbilt, Jake LaRavia, a 2026 first-round pick, three unprotected first-rounders (2031, 2033), and three pick swaps (2028, 2030, 2032) to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Antetokounmpo. The deal would pair the Greek Freak with Luka Doncic, creating a superstar tandem that could dominate the Western Conference for years.

"Antetokounmpo has been on the trade block for a while now, and it's clear that the Milwaukee Bucks are going nowhere fast in the next few years," Pagaduan wrote. "Meanwhile, Giannis has expressed a constant desire to compete for titles. Perhaps teaming up with Doncic would give him that opportunity."

But here's the twist: the Lakers may not have to sacrifice their beloved third star, Austin Reaves. According to a bombshell report from The Athletic's Sam Amick and Dan Woike, Luka Doncic has made it clear he enjoys playing alongside Reaves and doesn't want to break up their backcourt chemistry to land Antetokounmpo. That leaves Knecht, Vanderbilt, and LaRavia as the primary trade chips—a package that might just be enough to catch lightning in a bottle twice.

As the NBA offseason heats up, all eyes will be on the Lakers' front office. Will they swing for the fences and pair Doncic with one of the greatest superstars of this generation? Or will they hold onto their young core and build around the duo they already have? One thing's for sure: the rumor mill is only just getting started.
