With the win, the Lady Vols clinch a win in the SEC series and will play for a weep on Monday. First pitch for the series finale is slated for 7 p.m. EDT.
Tennessee led, 1-0, in the third inning after Bella Faw scored when Emma Clarke reached on an error. The Lady Vols extended their advantage to, 2-0, in the sixth when Saviya Morgan had an RBI single in the sixth.
The Lady Vols added four runs in the seventh as Alannah Leach had a two-run single. and Taelyn Holley each had an scoring single and freshman Elsa Morrison hit an RBI double.
Alannah Leach went 1-for-3. She recorded two RBIs and scored one run, while Morgan went 1-for-4 and recorded one RBI.
Morrison went 1-for-2. She hit one double and recorded one RBI, while Gabby Leach went 1-for-4 and recorded one RBI. Ella Dodge went 1-for-4 and scored one run.
Sage Mardjetko (9-1) stated for the Lady Vols and pitched five innings. She allowed three hits and one walk, Mardjetko recorded five strikeouts. She totaled 82 pitches, including 53 strikes.
Karlyn Pickens, who pitched a no-hitter in the series opener on Saturday, earned her third save of the season. She pitched two innings and recorded four strikeouts. Pickens totaled 28 pitches, including 19 strikes.
