Kyle Van Noy has made it clear where he wants to play next season—and it's not in Seattle.

The veteran edge rusher, who just turned 35, appeared on Up & Adams Tuesday morning and expressed a strong desire to suit up for the San Francisco 49ers. "I'd really like to play with my little brother, Fred Warner, with the 49ers," Van Noy said. "I think they got something cooking over there."

Van Noy, who spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens, revealed he had been in talks with the Seattle Seahawks but was surprised they signed Dante Fowler to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million—apparently not matching his asking price.

The timing is interesting for San Francisco. The 49ers are heading into the next phase of their offseason with their two best edge rushers recovering from ACL injuries. They've already signaled their intent to bolster the position by drafting Romello Height in the third round, but adding a seasoned veteran like Van Noy could provide immediate depth and leadership.

Van Noy is coming off a bit of a down year in 2025, but his 2024 campaign was one of the best of his career. At age 33, he led Baltimore with 47 pressures, 19 tackles for loss, and 12.5 sacks, primarily lining up as the left edge rusher. While those numbers dipped this past season, he's been remarkably durable throughout his career—missing just two games in 2024 due to a hamstring injury that didn't linger.

There's no doubt Van Noy would make the 49ers a better team, even in a diminished role. But the question is whether San Francisco is willing to take reps away from younger, heavily invested players like Mykel Williams, who is already playing catch-up after missing the second half of his rookie year.

For a team that prides itself on developing young talent, adding a 35-year-old pass rusher might feel like a luxury—but with the right price and role, Van Noy could be the kind of veteran presence that helps push the 49ers over the top.
