Kristoffer Reitan just pulled off one of the biggest moves of the PGA Tour season, and it's the kind of story that reminds us why we love this game. With his victory at the Truist Championship on May 10, the Norwegian star didn't just win his first Tour title—he skyrocketed 46 spots on the money list, leaping from 54th to 8th place and crossing the $5 million mark in earnings.
Reitan is only the second PGA Tour winner ever from Norway, and he joined some elite company by winning at Quail Hollow Club. That course has a history of launching careers: Rory McIlroy won there in 2010, Wyndham Clark in 2019, and Rickie Fowler in 2012. Now Reitan gets his name on that list, and with the PGA Championship coming up this week at Aronimink Golf Club, all eyes will be on him. If he brings the same form he showed at last year's PGA venue, he could be a serious threat to contend again.
The Truist Championship reshuffled more than just Reitan's standing. Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Højgaard both tied for second, two shots back, and each took home $1.76 million. Fowler jumped from 30th to 15th on the money list, while Højgaard climbed from 27th to 13th. Not bad for a weekend's work.
Cameron Young still holds the top spot on the money list, with a lead of more than $1.2 million over Matt Fitzpatrick. Young was in contention at Truist until a final-round 74 dropped him into a tie for 10th, but his season has been dominant enough to keep him comfortably ahead.
So far this season, 71 players have earned $1 million or more in Tour events. That's down slightly from last year, when 77 players had crossed that threshold entering the PGA Championship. With the second major of the year just days away, expect more shakeups—and more players chasing that seven-figure mark.
