Kansas basketball fans, breathe a sigh of relief. The Jayhawks' backcourt just received a major boost with the news that freshman guard Kohl Rosario is running it back for another season in Lawrence.

Rosario announced his return Monday in a social media post, declaring he's "back for more" with the program. This decision provides crucial continuity for a Kansas squad facing significant roster turnover, retaining a young player whose potential flashed during his debut campaign.

In a highlight video announcing his choice, Rosario expressed his deep connection to the program. "I’m honored to have Kansas across my chest," he said. "Playing in Allen Fieldhouse... words can’t describe it. It’s different. Basketball is everything here."

The 6-foot-6 guard's freshman season was a tale of adaptation. After earning a starting role early, his minutes became less consistent as the year progressed. While his defensive effort and energy were never in question, his shooting—a key part of his projected role—didn't meet expectations, as he finished at 28.6% from three-point range.

This return represents a prime opportunity for a sophomore leap. Rosario appeared in 29 games, averaging 11.6 minutes, and now has a full offseason to refine his game within the system. For a Jayhawks team looking to reload for another Big 12 title chase, a more consistent and confident Rosario could be a vital piece of the rotation puzzle next season.
