The New York Knicks made NBA playoff history on Sunday, and it wasn't just the final score that had fans buzzing. In a dominant 4-0 series sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers, the Knicks tied an all-time playoff record by sinking 25 three-pointers on 44 attempts—a blistering 57% from beyond the arc. And leading the charge was an unlikely hero: Miles "Deuce" McBride.
Stepping in for the injured OG Anunoby, McBride was nothing short of spectacular. The guard connected on seven of his nine three-point attempts, including a personal 9-0 run in the first quarter that effectively put the game out of reach early. "They left me open," McBride said with a smile after the game. "This is what I expect to do. That's why the coaching staff trusts me, my teammates trust me. And I trust my work."
Head coach Mike Brown couldn't hide his admiration for McBride's performance. "Obviously, all of our guys, starting with Jalen [Brunson] and KAT [Karl-Anthony Towns], were really good, but Deuce—he was unbelievable," Brown said. "His ability to stretch the floor and create space for others is second to none. He's got a confidence about him that just makes us take another level on both ends of the floor."
Brown even gave a nod to McBride's upbringing, noting the toughness that runs in the family. "It's Mother's Day. It comes from his mom. Get that correct. It comes from his mom," Brown added. "Deuce is just tough. He's a football player, you know? In order to have a chance in life and at anything you do, you have to have a short memory, and he definitely has a short memory."
McBride's performance was so efficient that he joined Anunoby as the only players in the 2026 NBA playoffs to score at least 25 points with three or fewer missed shots and zero turnovers. Towns, who praised his teammate's impact, said, "He was fantastic. The start of the game really was the Deuce McBride show. He went out there and hit some really big shots that gave us momentum. Shout out to Deuce. That's one of the best games I've ever seen him play, especially in the moment."
With the Knicks now in a three-way tie for the playoff record in three-pointers made, the team's shooting display is a reminder that in the modern NBA, the long ball can change everything. For fans looking to channel that same energy on the court, it's all about having the right gear and the confidence to let it fly—just like Deuce.
