Boxing fans are in for a treat this Saturday night as Keyshawn Davis looks to settle an old score with Nahir Albright in a highly anticipated rematch. The 12-round super lightweight main event, headlining Top Rank's first full card on DAZN, takes place in Davis's hometown of Norfolk, Virginia—and the bad blood between these two is impossible to ignore.
The history between Davis (14-0, 10 KOs) and Albright (17-2-1, 7 KOs) runs deep. When they first met in 2023, Davis eked out a close decision victory, but the result was later overturned to a no-contest after Davis tested positive for marijuana. The tension escalated last year when Albright defeated Keyshawn's older brother, Kelvin, on a card where Keyshawn had to withdraw and vacate a lightweight title due to missing weight. A backstage altercation followed—Albright claims he was attacked by Keyshawn and others, while Davis admits his actions were wrong but says things never turned physical. Whatever the truth, the animosity is real.
Davis, 27, turned professional in 2021 after a stellar amateur career. Many believed he would have won the United States' first men's boxing gold medal since Andre Ward in 2004—if not for Cuban standout Andy Cruz, who had Davis's number in the amateur ranks. Davis has largely translated that amateur pedigree to the pros, dominating solid competition. But the exception came in October 2023 against Albright, who gave Davis all he could handle in a fight that exposed cracks in the rising star's armor.
The question then became: how would Davis respond to being tested? He answered emphatically, easily dispatching Jose Pedraza, Miguel Madueno, and Gustavo Lemos in his next three outings. Now, he faces the man who gave him his toughest night—and with a hometown crowd behind him, Davis has every motivation to make a statement.
Don't miss the action. Bad Left Hook will have live results, updates, and reactions starting at 8:00 pm ET on Saturday, May 16.
