Leeds United are facing a significant injury crisis ahead of Monday's high-stakes clash against Tottenham Hotspur, with key duo Gabriel Gudmundsson and Noah Okafor both ruled out—and a third star now a major doubt.
Okafor, who was instrumental in last week's hard-fought victory over Burnley, pulled up with a calf problem during that match. It's a cruel blow for the forward, who had only just returned from a separate calf issue sustained in the FA Cup. "He'll likely be out the next two games," confirmed assistant boss Edmund Riemer, stepping in for the ill Daniel Farke. "We're hopeful he'll be available for the final game of the season."
Meanwhile, Gudmundsson missed the Burnley fixture entirely and won't feature against Spurs either. "Gabi will be out for this week," Riemer added, "and we'll assess him on a daily basis."
To make matters worse, defender Pascal Struijk is now a doubt after suffering a hip contusion in training. While the club remains optimistic, his absence would leave a gaping hole in the backline against one of the league's most potent attacks. "Pascal is not going to train today," Riemer noted. "He got a hip contusion and will train individually, but we hope he'll be available."
With three key players potentially missing, Leeds face a daunting test of their squad depth as they prepare to take on Spurs at a crucial point in the season. Fans will be hoping for positive news on Struijk—and that the team can rally without their stars.
