The Florida State Seminoles are in a heated recruiting battle for one of the nation's top offensive line prospects, but the latest projections suggest they may be losing ground to a bitter in-state rival.

Jatori Williams, a four-star offensive lineman from Phenix City, Alabama, has announced he will make his college commitment on May 22. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound powerhouse has narrowed his list to six finalists: FSU, Miami, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, and Kentucky. For Seminoles fans, the bad news is that Miami has emerged as the clear frontrunner.

Over the past two days, multiple recruiting experts on Rivals have logged predictions favoring the Hurricanes, giving Miami a staggering 95.4% chance of landing Williams' commitment. That's a tough pill to swallow for FSU, especially considering they've been recruiting him since January 2025 and have hosted him for multiple campus visits.

Williams is ranked as the No. 105 overall prospect and the No. 9 interior offensive lineman in the Rivals industry rankings. He's also the No. 4 player from the talent-rich state of Alabama—a state FSU has historically recruited well.

The Seminoles currently have just six players committed to their 2027 recruiting class, and none along the offensive line. Offensive line coach Herb Hand has made Williams a top priority, but losing him to Miami would be a significant blow, especially given the heated rivalry between the two programs.

Williams has scheduled an official visit to FSU for June 12, but it remains uncertain whether he'll honor that visit after making his commitment. For now, the Seminoles can only wait and hope for a last-minute shift in momentum.
