As the Tennessee Titans gear up for training camp, all eyes are on the offensive line—and right guard remains the biggest puzzle piece. The team is navigating a complex situation at the position, and one familiar name still looms large: Kevin Zeitler.

The veteran guard, who delivered stellar play for the Titans in 2025, remains a free agent. At 35, Zeitler is reportedly still eager to play, though he may be waiting for the right opportunity—or simply looking to skip the grind of offseason workouts. Either way, his availability continues to fuel speculation among fans and analysts alike.

According to Easton Freeze of A to Z Sports, a reunion between Zeitler and the Titans appears less likely than it once did. That's a notable shift, given how much the team could still benefit from his steady presence. As long as he's out there, though, hope for his return won't fade.

Without Zeitler, the Titans are left with a trio of internal options. Sophomore fifth-round pick Jackson Slater is the current favorite to start at right guard, but his versatility to also play center adds an intriguing wrinkle. If Slater shifts to center, the door swings wide open for others.

Veteran Cordell Volson, signed in free agency, brings 48 career starts at guard—though his track record is below average. After missing the entire 2025 season due to injury, he's a bounce-back project for new offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo. Then there's fifth-round rookie Fernando Carmona, whose toughness and leadership could earn him a surprise shot at the starting job, especially given the lack of a clear frontrunner.

The Titans are rolling the dice at right guard, and the competition promises to be one of the most compelling storylines of camp. Whether Zeitler returns or not, the battle for the starting spot will shape the identity of this offensive line—and the team's fortunes in 2026.
