Kevin Kisner has revealed what he was telling his playing partner after getting the opportunity to play alongside Nelly Korda for the first time.

Korda has most definitely put her winless 2025 season behind her at the start of this year.

The 27-year-old is now world number one again after winning the Chevron Championship for the second time in her career this past week. It was Korda’s third major title.

Korda took charge of the tournament from the opening day at Memorial Park. She boasted a six-shot lead at the halfway stage and went on to keep all of her rivals at arm’s length over the remainder of the tournament.

While Korda appears to not crave the limelight at all, she is undoubtedly the biggest superstar in the women’s game right now.

And speaking on the Fore Play Podcast, Kevin Kisner suggested that he has been a big admirer of Korda ever since playing in an event alongside her some years ago.

“She’s cool, too. I played with her in a team event, the Grant Thornton, it was before it was mixed though, so they gave her a sponsor exemption to play with the guys. She was the only female playing. And after six holes, I was playing with Max Homa and we were paired with her, and I looked at Max on the seventh tee and I said this is the greatest golfer I’ve ever played with,” he said.

“She was hitting lasers with three woods at the flag, and we’re standing there with seven irons not hitting it inside of her. I told Max this is getting embarrassing. She’s going to beat me straight up from the back tees and you’re going to tell everyone about it.

“But she’s incredible, and she’s cool as hell because I asked her on the first tee, I said, ‘Nelly, I don’t know you very well, it’s nice to meet you, I just need to know where are we in this? I say a lot of off-colour things while I’m playing golf’. She goes, ‘whatever you want Kis, bring it on’.”

It is hard to imagine that we will see a season like the 2025 campaign on the LPGA ever again.

There were 30 different winners in 32 events. Jeeno Thitikul was the only player to win more than once.

What makes that run all the more incredible is the fact that Nelly Korda was not among those winners. That is despite Korda winning seven times back in 2024.

There is an amazing amount of talent in the women’s game right now. Thitikul has somehow still not won her first major title despite achieving so much already.

But it is arguably better for the LPGA to have a dominant figure like Korda emerge. That is much more likely to encourage casual fans to keep an eye on what is going on.

And Korda is certainly well on her way to becoming an all-time great with three majors and an Olympic gold medal under her belt already.

It would be no surprise to see her complete the Career Grand Slam in the near future.
