Kevin Holland is making sure Joaquin Buckley's pre-fight trash talk doesn't get forgotten anytime soon. After Buckley's dominant loss to Sean Brady at UFC 328, Holland fired off a social media post that's quickly becoming the talk of the MMA world.
Buckley entered his welterweight bout against Brady in Newark, New Jersey, with all the confidence in the world. He'd been running his mouth for weeks, even going so far as to claim that Brady was the "easiest stylistic matchup" of his career. "Brady Butch easy money. I ain't gonna train for him," Buckley boasted. "I'll do whatever for this fight camp. All I have been doing is sleeping, eating, and f---ing."
But when the cage door closed, it was a completely different story. Brady controlled every second of the fight, dominating Buckley for three full rounds before earning a unanimous decision victory. The loss marks Buckley's second straight defeat, following a setback against former champion Kamaru Usman.
Holland, who famously knocked out Buckley in 2020 after telling him to wipe a "booger" off his nose, wasted no time twisting the knife. He posted a clip of Buckley's arrogant pre-fight comments, immediately followed by footage of him getting pounded on the ground by Brady. "Buckley funny asf," Holland wrote in the caption, adding a few laughing emojis for good measure.
For Holland, the timing couldn't be better. "Trailblazer" just snapped his own two-fight slump last month at UFC 327 with a unanimous decision win over Randy Brown. Now sitting at 29-15, he's looking to build momentum—and apparently, enjoying every second of Buckley's misfortune along the way.
As for Buckley, his record now sits at 21-8, and he's got some serious soul-searching to do after two consecutive losses. One thing's for sure: his trash talk won't be taken quite as seriously next time around.
