Summer is the perfect time for young athletes to sharpen their skills, and the Mitchell High School boys basketball program has announced an exciting lineup of youth camps designed to do just that. These camps offer a fantastic opportunity for players to learn, grow, and have fun on the court.

Kicking off the summer schedule is the popular Caden Hinker Skills Camp on June 8-9. Led by the former Kernel standout, this camp is open to boys and girls entering grades K-8 and focuses on fundamental skill development for a registration fee of $55.

For those looking for more intensive training, the Kernel Basketball Camp offers two separate sessions. The first runs May 27-28, with a second session July 8-9. Open to boys and girls in grades K-8, the cost is $40 for one session or $70 for both. Participants will receive coaching directly from the MHS boys basketball coaching staff and players, providing invaluable insight into the game.

Taking skill development a step further, the Kernel Basketball Skills Academy returns with a structured summer-long program. For younger athletes in grades K-4, Coach Chris Gubbrud will lead smaller group workouts split by skill level on multiple dates in June and July. The cost is $50 for June or $40 for July. For grades 5-8, former Dakota Wesleyan player Gary White III will direct the academy, with sessions scheduled across June and July for $60 per month.

These camps are a great way for aspiring players to build a strong foundation, gain confidence, and prepare for the upcoming season. For registration details or questions, please contact Mitchell boys basketball head coach Ryker Kreutzfeldt directly.
