The Mitchell High School girls golf team is making serious moves on the course, and their latest victory proves they're a force to be reckoned with. On Tuesday, the Kernels dominated a quadrangular at Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls, securing the team title with an impressive performance.

Led by four top-five finishers, Mitchell posted a stellar team total of 318 strokes, finishing a commanding 20 strokes ahead of runner-up Yankton (338). Host Sioux Falls Lincoln took third with 352, while Sioux Falls Jefferson rounded out the field at 364. It was a statement win for the Kernels, showcasing their depth and consistency under pressure.

Anna Eliason set the pace for Mitchell, earning individual runner-up honors with a solid 7-over-par 78 on the par-71 layout. But she wasn't alone in the spotlight. Teammates Mia Larson (79), Londyn Hajek (80), and Maddie Childs (81) locked down third through fifth places, respectively, providing the backbone of the team's winning score. Brynlee Sabers tied for eighth with an 84, and Elliot Smith added a 96 to round out the Kernel lineup.

Yankton's Ellia Homstad claimed individual medalist honors, firing a sharp 4-over 75 to finish three shots ahead of Eliason at the top of the leaderboard. But the Kernels' collective strength proved too much to overcome.

Tuesday's win was the second of four scheduled varsity events in a packed week for Mitchell. Just a day earlier, the Kernels finished third at the Sioux Falls Invitational at Willow Run Golf Course. The momentum is building, and the team shows no signs of slowing down.

Next up, the Kernels head to the Huron Invitational on Thursday at Broadland Creek Golf Course, followed by the Yankton Invitational on Friday at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club. With this kind of depth and determination, Mitchell is poised to keep making waves—and maybe even add a few more titles to their collection.
