Big Blue Nation, get ready to welcome a new star to Lexington! The Kentucky Wildcats women's basketball program, led by head coach Kenny Brooks, has officially signed Ajša Sivka—a 6-foot-4 guard from Slovenia who was once a top-10 WNBA Draft pick.
Selected 10th overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2025 WNBA Draft, Sivka chose to continue her development in Europe, representing Slovenia's national team. Now, she's bringing her elite talent to the college hardwood, adding a dynamic presence to the Wildcats' roster.
At the EuroBasket Women's Championship last year, Sivka showcased her all-around game, averaging 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting an impressive 50% from the field. Her combination of height, shooting touch, and playmaking ability makes her a versatile threat on the wing.
"I am delighted to welcome Ajša to our program," Brooks said in a statement. "Her combination of size and skill will fit into our system seamlessly. Ajša is a tremendous shooter, scorer, and playmaker from the wing position, and she will add experience to our team. BBN, let's welcome Ajša to our family!"
While Sivka suits up for Kentucky this season, the Chicago Sky retain her professional rights, meaning her WNBA future remains bright when she eventually makes the leap. For now, Wildcats fans can look forward to seeing a former top-10 draft pick bring her European flair and championship pedigree to Memorial Coliseum.
This signing marks another bold move by Coach Brooks as he continues to build a powerhouse program in Lexington, blending international talent with homegrown stars. Get ready, BBN—the excitement is just beginning!
