The Kentucky Wildcats are reported to have held a Zoom meeting with one of the best players remaining in the transfer portal.

Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to rebuild through the transfer portal. After missing out on early targets like Donnie Freeman (St. John's) and Rob Wright (BYU), and seeing other options dwindle while pursuing recruit Tyran Stokes, the Wildcats are now focused on landing a true difference-maker.

According to Kentucky Sports Radio, Coach Pope recently held a Zoom meeting with Milan Momcilovic, one of the most sought-after players still available in the portal. The 6'8" forward is currently testing the NBA draft waters, but if he decides to return to college, Kentucky hopes to make Lexington his new home.

Momcilovic would be a massive addition for Pope's offense. Last season at Iowa State, he averaged 16.9 points and over 3 rebounds per game while shooting an eye-popping 49% from three-point range—making him one of the nation's elite marksmen. Wildcats fans won't forget his 20-point, 4-three-pointer performance against Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament, where he helped send the Cats packing.

With a May 27 deadline to decide on the draft, Momcilovic has options. But Kentucky has a strong pitch: a system built for shooters, a passionate fanbase, and the financial resources to compete. If he pulls out, the Wildcats should be at the front of the line.
