As Kentucky Basketball continues to fill out its roster, one of its top remaining recruits is set to make a college decision on Monday, and another could follow suit.
On Saturday, 5-star forward Miikka Muurinen revealed that he will make his college choice on Monday, April 27. The 6-foot-10 big man is ranked 55th overall in the 2026 class by 247 Sports Composite.
For now, it’s unclear who Muurinen’s finalists are, but Kentucky and Make Pope have been recruiting him for much of the last year. However, North Carolina has been making a strong push and has family ties to Muurinen, as it’s the school his mom played for, so the Tar Heels could be the choice.
Oh, and Tyran Stokes may also be announcing his decision on Monday, according to Jeff Goodman, though his report is far less certain, so this could just be another twist in a recruitment that’s been chock-full of them.
Kentucky is obviously all-in on getting Stokes, the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2026 class, but for now, the Kansas Jayhawks are seen as the significant favorite.
My guess is that the Wildcats will not be the pick for either player if both decisions do come on Monday.
I was told by one source close to the situation that Tyran Stokes, the No. 1 player in the country, could announce his decision on Monday. I’ll believe it when I see it. Stokes choosing between Kansas and Kentucky.
