Hailing from Powder Springs, Georgia, Lumpkin suits up for McEachern High School, a program known for producing elite talent. But it was his recent performance at Nike’s EYBL Atlanta Session that truly turned heads. Lumpkin was named MVP of the weekend by Rivals after putting up jaw-dropping numbers: 26 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. A do-it-all guard with a versatile skill set, he’s precisely the type of player Kentucky loves to build around.

This offer isn’t coming out of nowhere. Lumpkin has already visited Lexington twice, soaking in the Wildcats’ electric atmosphere. He witnessed Kentucky’s impressive exhibition win over Purdue and felt the intensity of a close loss to North Carolina in last season’s ACC/SEC Challenge. Those experiences have clearly left a lasting impression.

Kentucky’s recruiting push for 2027 doesn’t stop with Lumpkin. The coaching staff has been crisscrossing the country, visiting top prospects like Ryan Hampton (ranked No. 9 in the class) and recently making the top five for Obinna Ekezie Jr., the No. 2 player in the 2027 rankings.
