While there's a light sense of underlining widespread panic surrounding Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats due to their less-than-stellar recruiting efforts, it's not all doom and gloom for BBN. The return of Braydon Hawthorne after his redshirt season in Lexington has certainly provided a spark. But he won't be the only Hawthorne making waves in Lexington; the younger Hawthorne, Zyon, has also signed with the Cats.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches, this guard from Huntington Prep chose Kentucky over offers from La Salle, Wichita State, Arkansas State, and Bethune-Cookman. Zyon will join his brother as a true freshman in the backcourt.

Hawthorne is a floor general without needing to pound the rock. He moves differently, and controls the game with his tempo. The floater package is tough, and he’s comfortable hitting shots with a hand in his face. He's a sneaky defender too, jumping passing lanes and flipping steals into instant points. He’s a quiet game-changer who shifts momentum.
Together, they will team up with Malachi Moreno, Kam Williams, Trent Noah, Reece Potter, Zoom Diallo, Alex Wilkins, and Mason Williams—making it a total of nine out of fifteen roster spots filled for the upcoming season.
