The Indianapolis Colts are navigating a delicate offseason as star quarterback Anthony Richardson has reported for voluntary workouts—but veteran cornerback Kenny Moore remains absent, creating tension within the team.

According to Nathan Brown of the Indy Star, Richardson joined the team for the latest phase of offseason programs, while Moore has stayed away. Both players requested trades earlier this year, adding an extra layer of drama to the Colts' preparations.

Voluntary workouts kicked off on April 21, with neither player initially showing up. While participation is optional at this stage, the team's mandatory minicamp—scheduled for June 9-11—will be the first true test of commitment.

Moore's situation has been brewing for weeks. ESPN's Stephen Holder reported on April 10 that the Colts and Moore were exploring a trade, citing "partly a scheme fit issue." General Manager Chris Ballard addressed the matter before the NFL draft, saying, "At the end of the day, talking to him, he just felt like it was time for a change. Nothing much more than that, and because of our respect level for Kenny, we said okay."

The draft seemed like a natural opportunity to move Moore, but no deal materialized. Now, the Colts are left waiting for a trade partner, with Moore entering the final year of his contract. His cap hit sits at $13.11 million, but a trade would free up $7.06 million in cap space, per Over the Cap.

Moore has been a cornerstone of the Colts' defense for nine seasons, earning a Pro Bowl nod. Over his career, he's allowed just 10.0 yards per catch, notched 22 interceptions, and broken up 38 passes. However, the team is high on second-year defensive back Justin Walley, who could step into Moore's nickel role.

For now, the Colts are focused on building chemistry with Richardson under center while Moore's future hangs in the balance. Whether a trade happens soon or the situation drags into mandatory minicamp, this storyline will be one to watch as the NFL offseason heats up.
