Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics saw their season come to a stunning halt on Sunday, falling in Game 7 of their NBA playoffs Eastern Conference first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. After building a commanding 3-1 lead, the Celtics dropped three straight games, including the decisive loss at TD Garden.

NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins didn't mince words when discussing Brown's performance, unleashing a fiery critique on "The Road Trippin' Show." Perkins didn't hold back, calling out the five-time All-Star for failing to capitalize on a golden opportunity. "You're up 3-1, and you're flopping to sell calls? I don't want to hear it," Perkins said. "Y'all died by the three. You lost three home games at the Boston Garden—three! That place used to be sacred, a fortress where opponents dreaded to play. Instead, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid walked in like they owned the place, kicked their feet up on your coffee table, and ordered DoorDash with your credit card. That's how comfortable they were."

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum, who sat out with knee stiffness, leaving Brown to shoulder the load. He delivered a valiant effort with 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks, but it wasn't enough to counter the 76ers' firepower. Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Paul George combined for a staggering 100 points, overwhelming Boston's defense.

Five Celtics scored in double figures, with Brown getting support from Derrick White, Neemias Queta, Payton Pritchard, and Sam Hauser. However, no other player stepped up, and the team's 3-point shooting fell apart. Boston converted just 13 of 49 attempts from beyond the arc, a stark contrast to Tatum's career 36.9% accuracy from deep. The four-time All-NBA first-team member is known for his clutch gene, and his absence was painfully evident in the game's biggest moments.

This abrupt exit leaves the Celtics' front office with plenty to ponder. Tatum missed most of the season recovering from an Achilles tear, and the team's early playoff ouster could push management to be more aggressive in free agency. With the right additions, Boston might surround its stars with the talent needed to avoid another collapse like this one.
