In a thrilling crosstown showdown at Guaranteed Rate Field, the Chicago Cubs snapped the White Sox's five-game winning streak with a 10-5 victory on Friday night, fueled by Carson Kelly's clutch hitting and four RBIs.

Kelly delivered the game's biggest moment in the seventh inning, lacing a tiebreaking single through the infield with the bases loaded to put the Cubs ahead 5-4. He wasn't done there—adding a two-run double in a four-run eighth that stretched the lead to 10-4. The catcher finished 3-for-5, providing the offensive spark Chicago needed in front of a sellout crowd of 38,723, the White Sox's first home sellout of the season.

The Cubs built leads of 1-0 and 4-1, but the White Sox battled back each time. Colson Montgomery and Miguel Vargas each crushed solo home runs to keep Chicago's South Siders within striking distance. Jarred Kelenic also went deep for the White Sox, launching a 446-foot blast in the ninth inning off Javier Assad for his first homer in a White Sox uniform.

Seiya Suzuki broke out of an 0-for-17 slump with an RBI single that gave the Cubs a 4-1 lead, while Trent Thornton (2-0) was dominant in relief, striking out two over two perfect innings.

The Cubs' offense was relentless, pounding out 14 hits. White Sox reliever Jordan Hicks struggled mightily in the eighth, walking four batters and allowing four runs while recording just two outs.

The series continues Saturday, with Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon (2-2, 3.94 ERA) taking the mound against White Sox righty Davis Martin (5-1, 1.62 ERA) in what promises to be another exciting chapter in this historic rivalry.
