The New York Giants added to their defense during Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft with the selection of Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese with the No. 5 overall pick.

Though the Giants plan to play Reese at inside linebacker, the talented defender is expected to be a major addition to New York's pass rush, meaning Kayvon Thibodeaux could be even more expendable now.

Thibodeaux has been involved in trade rumors all offseason, and though a trade involving the young pass rusher hasn't gained much steam, the NFL Draft could be where it finally takes place.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, New York is open to offers for Thibodeaux, and the New Orleans Saints are among the teams showing interest.

"Sources: The Giants have engaged in trade conversations involving DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, and the #Saints are among the teams showing strong interest," Schultz said on X.

"If a deal happens, it could be as soon as tonight. Giants have been open to listening."

Thibodeaux is coming off a down year in 2025, but when at his best, he's a dynamic pass rusher who can still blossom into a star.

Thibodeaux is still on the Giants' roster, but the 25-year-old's recent post on his Instagram story makes it seem like his days in New York are coming to an end.

On his story, Thibodeaux posted an edit from the movie Fast and Furious that includes the sentence: "You thought you could leave without saying goodbye."

It's unknown if Thibdoeaux gets dealt during Day 2 or 3 of the draft, but it's looking more and more likely based on Schultz's report and the Oregon product's social media activity.
