With the NFL Draft just days away, college football’s top prospects are preparing to hear their names called and take the next step to the professional level.
Among them is Norfolk native Kaytron Allen, who is expected to be selected in this year’s draft.
The former Penn State running back is considered one of the most sought-after players at his position. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Allen among the top four running backs in this year’s class.
Allen began his collegiate career at Penn State in 2022 and quickly became a key contributor. Over the course of his career, he developed into one of the program’s most productive rushers.
During his senior season, Allen set a school record, becoming Penn State’s all-time leading rusher with more than 4,100 yards.
At 5 feet 11 inches and 216 pounds, Allen has earned praise from NFL scouts for his size, balance through contact, patience behind the line of scrimmage and ability to protect the football.
Allen said the moment feels surreal as he prepares to potentially achieve his lifelong goal of playing in the NFL.
