Kasean Pryor's time with Louisville basketball has come to an end. The 6-foot-10 forward is entering the NCAA transfer portal and will seek a waiver for a seventh and final year of eligibility, as reported by On3.
Pryor's second season under head coach Pat Kelsey was a challenging one, defined by a limited role as he worked his way back from a significant injury. After suffering a torn ACL in his left knee that ended his 2024-25 season early, Pryor appeared in 23 games off the bench this past year, averaging just 6.4 minutes per contest.
Despite the limited playing time, the Chicago native showed flashes of his potential. His best performance came in a December win over Memphis, where he scored 11 points on perfect 3-for-3 shooting from three-point range. He also delivered a crucial 10-point, 5-rebound effort in just 16 minutes during a February victory over Notre Dame, a performance that drew praise from opposing coach Micah Shrewsberry.
However, those moments were the exception. For the 2025-26 campaign, Pryor averaged 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds. Following his standout game against Notre Dame, his playing time dwindled further, highlighting the difficult reality of earning minutes in a competitive high-major program.
Pryor's journey is a testament to resilience, having already utilized a sixth year of eligibility granted due to his time in junior college. Now, as he looks for a new home via the transfer portal, he'll hope to find a program where he can secure a larger role and finish his collegiate career on a high note. For Louisville and Coach Kelsey, the roster evolution continues as they build for the future.
