With the schedule in place, predicting the Patriots record for the upcoming 2026 season

The 2026 NFL schedule is out, and for the New England Patriots, it's shaping up to be a season of high stakes and even higher expectations. After a jaw-dropping 14-win campaign last year that saw them snatch the AFC East crown from the Buffalo Bills and make an unexpected run to Super Bowl LX, the question on every fan's mind is simple: Can they do it again?

Let's be honest—last season's "soft" schedule was a gift, but the Patriots made the most of it. Now, they're playing a first-place slate, facing the NFL's elite. So, how will it all shake out? Here's my game-by-game breakdown of the 2026 season.

Week 1: at Seattle Seahawks (Wednesday Night)
Talk about a grudge match. The Patriots open on a Wednesday night against the team that smoked them in Super Bowl LX. My heart says New England will be fired up, with Drake Maye picking apart Seattle's secondary and new weapon A.J. Brown (expected to join after June 1) leading the charge. But my head says this will be the first regular-season road loss of the Mike Vrabel era—after going a perfect 8-0 on the road last year. Expect a much closer game than the Super Bowl, but a loss nonetheless.

Week 2: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Whether Aaron Rodgers returns or not, this is a must-win. The Patriots know they have to take care of business against teams they should beat. With extra rest after that Wednesday night opener, they'll avenge last year's Week 3 home loss to the Steelers. This one's in the win column.

Week 3: at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars were last year's other rags-to-riches story, winning 13 games under first-year coach Liam Coen before falling to Buffalo in the wild-card round. It'll be warm in Jacksonville, but not too hot. The Patriots rekindle their road warrior magic and grind out a win.

Week 4: vs. Buffalo Bills
One of the Patriots' signature wins last year came in Buffalo during Week 5. Now, the Bills come to Foxborough. This is where the rubber meets the road—can New England prove that last year's division title wasn't a fluke?
