MANHATTAN — Kansas State basketball added an international transfer who spent last season at Miami (Florida) to its 2026-27 men's basketball roster.
Timotej Malovec has committed to the Wildcats, according to NBA Draft insider Jonathan Givony. He will have at least two seasons of eligibility after spending his first season with the Hurricanes. He's originally from Ivanka pri Dunaji, Slovakia.
At Miami, Malovec appeared in all 33 games and made a pair of starts, averaging about 15 minutes per appearance. The 6-foot-8, 214-pound forward averaged 4.2 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.9 assists while shooting 35% from the field and 33.3% from deep.
Casey Alexander has also landed incoming freshmen Devin Hutcherson and Jaylen Alexander.

Before moving to the United States, he played for Mega Superbet in the ABA League First Division from 2023-25, where he averaged 6.1 points and 3.1 boards in 2024-25, shooting 36.5% from deep. He also represented Slovakia at the youth and senior national team levels. In the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers, he averaged 8.7 points, six boards, and 1.3 assists across six games.
Malovec is the 12th player to join Kansas State's inaugural roster under Casey Alexander, and the second international player, joining Andrej Kostic (Serbia), who will remain on the team after playing his freshman season under Jerome Tang a season ago.
Malovec joins a list of transfers that includes Montana Wheeler (Bradley), JT Rock (New Mexico), Matt Gilhool (LSU), Jaden Schutt (Virginia Tech), Brandon Rechsteiner (Colorado State), Dezdrick Lindsay (Oregon), and Brock Vice (Murray State). Alexander will also bring over Devin Hutcherson and Jaylen Alexander, two incoming freshmen whom he recruited to Belmont.
