LAWRENCE — Kansas baseball’s continued success has seen the Jayhawks rise in the top 25 of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
The Jayhawks, ranked No. 21 last week, are now five spots higher at No. 16. They’re tied there, with non-conference foe and fellow No. 16th-ranked Nebraska. KU and Nebraska are actually set to face off on Tuesday in Lawrence, in a rematch of a game the Jayhawks won on the road earlier this month against the Cornhuskers.

Kansas coach Dan Fitzgerald and his squad are in first place in the Big 12 Conference, adding a series win on the road against Oklahoma State this past weekend. It’s the fifth-straight Big 12 series win for the Jayhawks, something a KU release detailed is a first for the program in its history. This week, following the midweek game against Nebraska, KU will be on the road against rival Kansas State.
The Big 12 also features No. 14 West Virginia and No. 25 Arizona State. Kansas has yet to play either team this season. However, in May, the Jayhawks do have a three-game series at home against the Mountaineers.
