Big changes are in store for UFC Macau! Kangjie Zhu, the rising Chinese featherweight star, will no longer face Ramon Taveras at UFC Fight Night 277 on May 30 at the Galaxy Arena in Macau, China. Taveras has withdrawn from the bout due to undisclosed reasons, but the show must go on—and it does with an exciting new matchup.

Stepping in on just three weeks' notice is Rodrigo Vera, a Peruvian powerhouse who brings serious momentum into his UFC debut. Vera's management, Iridium Sports Agency, broke the news, and fight fans have plenty to be hyped about. Riding a five-fight winning streak, Kangjie (21-4) is set to make his long-awaited debut in his homeland, fresh off winning the Road to UFC Season 3 featherweight tournament last year. It's a homecoming that promises electric energy from the Macau crowd.

On the other side, Vera (21-1) is no slouch either. The Peruvian has been on an absolute tear, undefeated in 13 straight bouts since 2020. With both fighters riding hot streaks and hungry to make a statement, this featherweight clash just got even more intriguing. Whether you're backing the local hero or the surging newcomer, one thing's for sure: UFC Macau just got a whole lot more interesting.
