Wisconsin Lutheran's rising senior Kager Knueppel is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2026 class, with his recruitment reaching a fever pitch just ahead of his final high school season. The 6-foot-10 guard recently received a standout offer from Duke—a program with deep ties to his family, as his brother Kon spent a one-and-done season with the Blue Devils before being selected No. 4 overall in the NBA Draft.
Knueppel's surge in interest comes on the heels of an electrifying performance at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) in Atlanta this past April. Playing alongside other top Wisconsin-based talents for Team Herro, he showcased his versatile skill set and sharpshooting ability. Over three games, Knueppel shot an impressive 46.7% from the field, including a scorching 5-of-7 from beyond the arc in a 71-58 victory over PSA Cardinals (NY), finishing with 17 points. He followed that up with a 6-of-12 three-point shooting display, dropping 20 points in a 75-67 win over Team Why Not (CA).
"Everything picked up after the Atlanta EYBL Session 1. Lots of phone calls and texts," Knueppel told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reflecting on the whirlwind of attention from top-tier programs.
Known for his rare combination of size and perimeter skills, Knueppel has the potential to be a matchup nightmare at the next level. With offers and interest pouring in from elite college basketball programs, all eyes will be on him as he heads into his senior season at Wisconsin Lutheran, where he'll look to build on a standout state tournament run that saw the Vikings compete for a WIAA Division 1 title. For fans of the game, Knueppel is a name to watch—and a player who could soon be wearing the colors of a powerhouse program.
