Kade Anderson is quickly becoming the most talked-about arm in the Seattle Mariners' farm system—and for good reason. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft is living up to the hype and then some.

Anderson's journey to professional baseball began in Louisiana, where he dominated as a high school standout. Before Tommy John surgery sidelined him for his senior year, he posted an eye-popping 28-1 record with a microscopic 0.22 ERA. Perfect Game ranked him as the No. 2 overall player in the state, setting the stage for his next chapter.

After recovering from surgery, Anderson took his talents to LSU. He didn't pitch as a freshman, but by 2024 he was back on the mound, finishing with a 4-2 record and a 3.99 ERA. The following season, he emerged as LSU's ace, leading the Tigers to their eighth College World Series title and earning Most Outstanding Player honors along the way.

That championship pedigree made Anderson a top draft prospect, and the Mariners didn't hesitate to scoop him up with the third overall pick. Now pitching in Double-A, he's proving why Seattle was so eager to add him to their system.

Anderson is currently tearing through the Texas League with a dominant 3-0 record, a 0.60 ERA, and 47 strikeouts over 30 innings. MLB.com recently named him the Mariners' hottest pitching prospect, noting that he leads the league in ERA, strikeouts, WHIP, batting average against, and strikeout-to-walk ratio. As one scout put it, he's "looking very much like the advanced college lefty the Mariners hoped they were getting."

With numbers like these, it's not a matter of if Anderson will make his MLB debut—it's a matter of when. For Mariners fans, the future is looking bright, and Anderson is at the center of it all.
