This summer's Serie A transfer window is heating up, and one name is on everyone's lips: Tarik Muharemovic. The Sassuolo centre-back has become one of the most coveted defenders in Italy, drawing serious interest from both Inter and Juventus. But here's the twist—each club has a completely different reason for wanting him.

According to Tuttosport, Inter are leading the chase. The reigning Scudetto champions have already received a verbal nod from Muharemovic himself, who is reportedly eager to join a title-winning squad. The Nerazzurri are exploring a loan deal with an obligation to buy, and they might even sweeten the pot by including young talent Mattia Mosconi in the package. However, a sudden curveball from Tottenham Hotspur has slowed things down.

Juventus, on the other hand, are playing a different game entirely. The Bianconeri still hold a 50% sell-on clause from Muharemovic's time at the club. That means if Sassuolo sell him for their reported €35 million asking price, Juve would pocket a cool €17.5 million—without even signing him. For a club needing to fund defensive reinforcements and meet UEFA Champions League squad registration rules for Italian-trained players, that windfall is a game-changer.

Inter's urgency is clear. With Francesco Acerbi, Stefan de Vrij, and Matteo Darmian all out of contract, and Alessandro Bastoni's future still uncertain (though Barcelona's interest has cooled), the Nerazzurri need fresh legs at the back. If Bastoni stays, Inter will likely target just one of Muharemovic or Udinese's Oumar Solet. If he goes, expect a full-blown bidding war.

For a 21-year-old defender with just one full Serie A season under his belt, this is heady stuff. Muharemovic has shown composure beyond his years, and with two of Italy's biggest clubs circling, his next move could define his career—and reshape the defensive landscape of Serie A.
