That could have gone a lot better. If only Juventus had remembered how to beat a team that has already been relegated.

What should have been a routine victory turned into a frustrating afternoon for Juventus, as they could only manage a 1-1 draw against a Hellas Verona side already relegated to Serie B. Coming off a strong run after the March international break, the Bianconeri had everything to play for—and plenty of help from their rivals—but failed to capitalize when it mattered most.

On paper, this was a golden opportunity. With Napoli drawing Como the day before, Juventus had the chance to pull level on points with AC Milan for third place and leapfrog them on goal difference. Instead, they delivered a performance that left fans scratching their heads. A team that had been riding momentum suddenly looked toothless in attack, despite creating a flurry of chances.

The numbers tell a story of frustration: plenty of shots, but only one found the back of the net. Dusan Vlahovic's stunning free kick in the 62nd minute was a moment of brilliance, but it was the lone bright spot in an otherwise disjointed display. Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò was a wall, denying Juventus time and again, while the home side's own finishing let them down.

This wasn't supposed to happen. Verona had barely won since Christmas and looked lost in attack for months. They arrived in Turin already packing their bags for Serie B. But Juventus, as they've done so often this season, made life difficult for themselves. The first-shot-on-goal curse struck again, and a team that should have cruised to three points instead settled for one.

The draw leaves Juventus clinging to fourth place, even if Roma beats Fiorentina on Monday. But this performance raises serious questions about their ability to secure a Champions League spot. When the pressure was on and the stage was set, they stumbled. For a club with Juventus's ambitions, that's simply not good enough.
