Justin Thomas couldn't believe his eyes when his best friend and longtime rival Jordan Spieth pulled off a shot that left even the most seasoned golf fans in awe during Friday's second round of the PGA Championship.

The bond between Thomas and Spieth runs deep—they're the same age, grew up competing in junior tournaments, and now spend countless hours playing together away from the spotlight. Their friendship is the kind that makes you root for each other, especially on golf's biggest stages.

And this week at Aronimink, both are in the hunt. Thomas sits at two-under par heading into the weekend, just two shots off the lead. Spieth isn't far behind, lurking three strokes back of his close friend.

But Aronimink has been anything but forgiving. The course setup, combined with brutal weather conditions, has tested even the world's best. Rory McIlroy criticized the setup, while world number one Scottie Scheffler called some of Friday's pin placements "absurd."

Still, Spieth and Thomas seemed to embrace the chaos. The fierce wind on day two made certain holes nearly impossible—especially the 11th, playing straight downwind with the pin cut dangerously close to the front of the green. Most players settled for hitting their approaches 30 feet past the hole, terrified of the deep bunker guarding the front right.

Then came Spieth's moment of magic.

Thomas, watching from the fairway, was genuinely stunned. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his disbelief: "Can't put into words how incredible this is and how MAYBE 5 people in this tournament could even hit that shot let alone try it during a major, and pull it off haha."

It was a reminder that in golf, sometimes the most impossible situations produce the most unforgettable moments—especially when you're watching your best friend pull it off.
