This year, he plans to explore his options by "shadowing" professionals in fields that interest him. Broadcasting is high on his list, but his true passion lies in giving back to the next generation—specifically through high school football.

"I think the real impact, at least I know I'm going to do, at least down the road, is some type of high school position," Simmons shared during his retirement press conference. "Not necessarily saying a coach. As you guys know, throughout my career, all I care about is giving back. What a shame for me to have this platform and not be able to share it and give back in the same way that people gave to me."

But before diving into a new career, Simmons is prioritizing what matters most: family. After years of grueling NFL seasons, he's looking forward to making up for lost time with his wife and kids. "We're going to do little fun trips and things that we were not able to do during the season. We're a big Disney family if you guys didn't know or follow my Instagram," he said with a smile. And yes, hitting the golf course is also on the agenda.

Simmons isn't rushing into anything. He's eager to learn from those who've balanced football and community impact, like Broncos radio broadcaster Dave Logan, who also coaches high school football at an elite level. "Dave Logan is a great dude, and he's doing it at a really high level coaching. He's someone that I look up to. So grab coffee with him and pick his brain about being a coach. What are the challenges? What are the things that you enjoy about it?"

For fans who've followed Simmons' journey from a third-round pick to a defensive leader, his thoughtful transition is no surprise. Whether he ends up in a broadcast booth, on a high school sideline, or both, one thing is clear: Justin Simmons is still making plays—just in a different arena now.
