Julian Nagelsmann has decided to push back Germany’s World Cup squad announcement to May 21.

The squad was initially scheduled to be named on May 12, but the head coach has opted to delay the announcement, the German Football Association confirmed on Tuesday.

The move allows Nagelsmann to wait for the conclusion of the Bundesliga season before finalising his squad.

Meanwhile, the start of the training camp in Herzogenaurach has been pushed back by two days and will now begin on May 27.

This gives the numerous German internationals involved in the DFB-Pokal final between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart on May 23 more time to recover.
