Joy Taylor is back in the game. Nearly a year after leaving Fox Sports, the veteran sports broadcaster is launching a new daily podcast, The Daily Play with Joy Taylor, on the Urban One Podcast Network. This isn't your typical long-form show—it's a micro-podcast, clocking in at just five to 10 minutes per episode. Taylor will break down the biggest sports stories of the day, blending news with her signature opinions for a quick, punchy listen.

"I wanted to create something fast, focused, and always authentic. Sports fans are busy, but they want the context behind the conversation," Taylor said in a statement. "With The Daily Play, I'm giving them what it means and what to watch next—in just a few minutes. Joining Urban One allows me to talk directly to a loyal, engaged audience across the country. I'm excited to get back to my radio roots!"

Taylor spent nearly a decade at Fox Sports, joining in March 2016 as a fill-in host on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. She quickly rose through the ranks, eventually hosting Undisputed and later Speak. Her departure last summer came as part of a broader restructuring at Fox, which canceled Speak, Breakfast Ball, and The Facility to make room for a new morning show co-produced with Barstool Sports.

Her exit wasn't without controversy. In January 2025, former Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji filed a workplace misconduct suit naming Taylor as a defendant, alleging racial discrimination and claiming Taylor had sexual relationships with Fox executive Charlie Dixon and co-host Emmanuel Acho to advance her career. Taylor has strongly denied these allegations, maintaining that the lawsuit had nothing to do with her departure and pointing to Fox's programming overhaul as the real reason she left.

In her first public comments after leaving Fox, Taylor opened up on The Ringer's Higher Learning podcast about her mental state. She thanked Fox for giving her the chance to live out her dream as a sports panelist but admitted that the previous seven months had taken a toll on her relationship with the work. Now, with The Daily Play, she's stepping back into the spotlight on her own terms—ready to deliver quick, sharp sports takes for fans on the go.
