Josh Thomson is firing back after Nate Diaz downplayed their past fight, and he's not mincing words. The retired UFC lightweight star issued a sharp response on his YouTube channel after Diaz questioned the legitimacy of his 2013 knockout loss during a recent podcast appearance.

Thomson, known as "The Punk," vividly recalled the finish from their April 2013 bout. "I kicked your head off," he stated, referencing the iconic head kick that led to the second-round TKO. He challenged Diaz to rewatch the fight, claiming the audio tells the real story. "You were making girl noises when I kneed you in the guts against the fence," Thomson asserted. "Every time I elbowed you in the face you were making noises. Let's not pretend."

The rivalry has simmered for over a decade, and Thomson claims a rematch has been discussed several times. He says he's even offered to face Diaz in a boxing match or bare-knuckle bout, proposals he alleges were all rejected. "Show me you’re a west coast gangster," Thomson challenged, directly addressing Diaz's tough-guy persona. "You and I can do bare-knuckle."

With Diaz now set to face BKFC star Mike Perry in May, Thomson concedes that matchup makes business sense. However, he takes issue with any narrative that he's avoiding a fight. "Just tell it like it is," Thomson said. "You don’t want to fight, that’s cool. But don't say I didn't want to settle the score." This latest exchange proves that even years later, the competitive fire from one of the lightweight division's classic finishes still burns hot.
