The Sabres lost the game, 4-2, tying the first-round series at one game a piece
Allen, 29, made an epic appearance at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, on Tuesday, April 21, for Game 2 of the Sabres' first-round playoff series against the Boston Bruins. The Bills quarterback kicked things off by beating the drum and impressively chugging a beer as fans went wild.
The NFL star, who just welcomed his first child with wife Hailee Steinfeld, could be seen shouting, "Let's go," as he hyped up the crowd.
Unfortunately for Allen and the Buffalo fans, the Sabres were defeated at home, 4-2, tying the series at one game each.
The Sabres, who won their first playoff game in 15 years at home on Sunday, April 19, will next take on the Bruins in Boston on Thursday, April 23.
Allen's beer of choice to chug at the game was a Corona, which caught the attention of the brand on social media. The official Corona Beer account commented on the Instagram clip of Allen: "Ready to run through a brick wall for @joshallenqb."
Another popular comment said Allen was "a man of the city," and another said, "Being a dad looks good on that man."
Allen and Steinfeld, 29, announced they'd welcomed their first child together on April 2 in a post on her Substack titled "Special Delivery."
"Our baby girl has arrived!!" Steinfeld wrote in the newsletter. "We’re feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments. Thank you so much for the love and well wishes."
On April 20, Allen told reporters becoming a dad has changed "why" he wants to succeed in the NFL. “That want to win will never change...the why I want to do it has," he said. “So why I want to do it is to show my family, to show my daughter how hard you need to work in order to accomplish something so great,” he added. “And as long as I play this game, that’s going to be my mindset.”
