There have been rumors of a potential Jonathan Greenard trade brewing for weeks now, dating back to the beginning of free agency. Those rumors came to fruition, as during day two of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings traded Greenard to the Philadelphia Eagles for pick 98 in this year's draft and a third-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Greenard would take to social media to release a message to Vikings fans, thanking them for their support during his tenure in Minnesota:

Minnesota, I thank yall for believing and taking a chance on me. I thank Kwesi for allowing me to continue to live out my childhood dream. The bonds that I’ve made in that building will never be broken. Being coached by KO and Flo were one of the best experiences since being in the league. I appreciate and respect the hell outta that organization. Business is business so it’s always love this way. I gave everything I had in the tank for yall MN. Love. 58.

Greenard's 2024 season was stellar, totaling 12.0 sacks, and he was set up to dominate the NFC North with Dallas Turner. However, injuries plagued the talented pass rusher last season, playing in just 12 games and finishing 2025 with 3.0 sacks.
