Jon Scheyer is in roster finishing mode, and for Duke Basketball, it's been a week full of intriguing moves. From Boumtje-Boumtje to the Prime deal and now Theodosiu, the Blue Devils are shaping up for another competitive season.

Over the past few years, Scheyer has mastered the art of using the transfer portal strategically. While he occasionally lands a key piece—like John Blackwell or the near-miss Cedric Coward—his real skill lies in finding the right players to round out the roster. These are guys who understand their role: practice players who may not see heavy minutes but bring invaluable energy and teamwork. Think Jack Scott from this past season or Cameron Sheffield.

The latest addition in that mold is Jacob Theodosiu, a 6-4 guard transferring from Loyola Maryland. Theodosiu had a solid season with the Greyhounds, averaging 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. His experience and work ethic should fit right into Scheyer's system.

Scheyer’s portal approach works because he consistently recruits top-tier talent and uses transfers to fill specific gaps. It's a luxury not every program has, but he's making it work in a fascinating way. Theodosiu will also be the second Canadian on next year's roster, joining Maxime Meyer—and on the women's side, Toby Fournier brings more Northern flair.

Duke Basketball has officially landed a commitment from Loyola Maryland guard Jacob Theodosiou, adding depth and a strong team-first mentality to the Blue Devils' backcourt. For fans, this is another sign that Scheyer is building not just a talented team, but a cohesive one.
