When you think of Johnny Knoxville, you probably picture him taking outrageous hits on Jackass, not raising a future baseball star. But his 16-year-old son, Rocko Clapp, is making headlines for a very different kind of performance—dominating batters on the mound.
As a sophomore right-handed pitcher for Oakwood High School in North Hollywood, Clapp has been nearly untouchable this season. According to MaxPreps, he's racked up 27 strikeouts and posted a microscopic 0.80 ERA over 26.1 innings pitched. Working primarily as a reliever, his outings typically span one to three innings, and he's been a key factor in his team's stellar 20-1 record.
His success shouldn't come as a complete shock. Knoxville himself was a standout high school athlete who once admitted he could have played college baseball if he hadn't chosen to chase an acting career in Los Angeles. The apple, it seems, doesn't fall far from the tree.
Fans got a taste of Clapp's talent back in 2022 during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. In a playful skit staged in an alleyway near the set, Clapp faced off against his dad on the mound—and struck him out. Knoxville, clearly proud, told Kimmel, "I had a pretty good arm; he's got a great arm."
Clapp recently showcased his skills on a bigger stage, pitching at Angel Stadium last month as part of the Halo Classic high school baseball showcase in Anaheim. He's set to take the mound again Monday when Oakwood faces Campbell Hall in Los Angeles.
Whether he's following in his dad's footsteps or forging his own path, one thing's clear: Rocko Clapp has a live arm and a bright future ahead.
