New York Yankees announcers paid tribute to the team's longtime broadcaster, John Sterling, during the May 4 game against the Baltimore Orioles.

It was a bittersweet day at Yankee Stadium on May 4, as the New York Yankees faced the Baltimore Orioles with heavy hearts—and a fitting tribute—for their legendary broadcaster, John Sterling.

Sterling, who passed away at age 87 on the morning of the game, was beloved by baseball fans nationwide for his iconic, unmistakable home run calls. And in the bottom of the first inning, Aaron Judge provided the perfect moment for the team's current broadcasters to honor his memory.

With a two-run blast, Judge sent the ball soaring, and YES Network play-by-play announcer Michael Kay delivered a spot-on Sterling impression: "It is high! It is far! It is gone! Aaron Judge! A Judgian blast! Here comes the Judge!"

Before the first pitch, Kay and fellow broadcaster Suzyn Waldman placed a bouquet of flowers on home plate, while the team observed a moment of silence. Yankees players also wore Sterling's initials stitched into the back of their caps as a lasting tribute.

Manager Aaron Boone shared a personal touch, admitting he channels Sterling's famous "theeee Yankees win" call after every victory. "My coaches look at me like I'm nuts," Boone laughed. "As soon as that final out is made, I go, 'Ballgame over, Yankees win, theeee Yankees win!'"

From the broadcast booth to the dugout, it was a day the Yankees and their fans will never forget—a celebration of a voice that defined generations of baseball.
